Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani has sent Pascal Struijk a message of thanks after signing a new long-term deal at Elland Road. The Whites chief thanked the Dutch defender for his loyalty, hours after the club announced he would pen a new deal to stay at the club until 2027.
The 23-year-old, who first joined the club after impressing on trial in 2018, has been a mainstay for the Whites since they won promotion to the Premier League. The versatile defender has filled in at left-back for a large part of the current campaign, winning plaudits along the way.
The defender had hoped to be included in the Netherlands World Cup squad in Qatar, having been included in the provisional squad for the tournament. However, he was left out of Louis Van Gaal's final 26-man squad.

The new deal offered by Leeds United will see Struijk close in on a ten-year stay at Elland Road, if he sees out the contract in full. His previous contract was set to expire in the summer of 2024.
Radrizzani tweeted: "Delighted and proud to see your professional and personal growth, thank you for being loyal."
Leeds United supporters were equally pleased to see the Dutch defender extend his stay, but have sent the board a message heading into January, hoping for more positive news.
