Andrea McLean on life after Loose Women - Covid battle, mediation and blended family

Andrea McLean made her final appearance on ITV's Loose Women in December 2020.

She departed the series after 13 years on the chat show and made the move to focus on her website - which she began to empower women around the world to live, learn, thrive in a life they love

And since the telly favourite, 52, left the popular panel show her life has not slowed down one bit!

In a new interview, Andrea lifted the lid on her busy life and shared that it has been a big change moving away from presenting live TV, but that she has no regrets.

“It’s been quite a transition moving into something new, which started as a passion," she told Closer.

Reflecting on her impressive career on camera, she explained that she "loved live TV" and that "it’s a lot of fun" but that leaving her telly work in order to pursue her new project paid off.

“I followed my heart, and I really love what I do," she gushed.

Andrea also told how she makes sure she starts her day off right by practising meditation - and she even has a sign she holds up to let her husband Nick Feeney and her two kids Finlay and Amy - who she shares with ex-husband Nick green - know not to disturb her.

“I spend a minimum of 10 minutes meditating each day,” Andrea explained.

The author added that she aims to get her mindfulness session done “first thing” to ensure “emotional calm before the day begins" and believes that prevents her from "flipping at the slightest thing."

Andrea also suffered from Covid recently but put a positive spin on catching the bug by sharing that she believes being holed up in isolation with her brood "taught her a lesson" to slow down and rest.

Last year, Andrea opened up about her decision to leave Loose Women with the Sunday Mirror's Notebook magazine.

When asked how she went about handing in her notice, Andrea told the publication: "I emailed my bosses. I just said I needed to follow my heart...

"I was sat in the car! I had it all written and ready to go. I just felt like, now the next part of my life begins.

"It was like I’d pressed the start button. But it felt really right and now I’m happier than ever."

Andrea admitted she kept the news secret from her co-stars until after the email was sent, and then faced the difficult task of telling them in person.

She said they were "in absolute shock", adding: "I didn't breathe a word to anybody because I felt like it was such a personal decision.

"The hardest person to tell was Brenda Edwards, because we’ve become so close. She just burst into tears and ran out of the room.

"I know her well enough to know not to follow her. So I let her have her moment and she came back about five times. It was quite funny, actually."
