Andre Onana to Chelsea transfer latest: 'Mega demand', personal terms agreed, Inter valuation

Chelsea are in the market for a new goalkeeper this summer, with Kepa Arrizabalaga and Edouard Mendy surplus to requirements. The Blues have been heavily linked with several shot-stoppers recently – and Mauricio Pochettino's plan is clearer than ever before.

football.london understands the former Tottenham boss wants to replace Kepa and Mendy between the sticks, as well as a new midfielder and attacker. Andre Onana is one of many players identified by the west Londoners following his impressive performances for Inter Milan this season.

It's said that Chelsea and the Italian giants will discuss the possibility of signing the Cameroon international in the coming weeks, in addition to the future of Romelu Lukaku. However, Onana is not the only goalkeeper who has been shortlisted by the Blues – in fact, Mike Maignan of AC Milan has also been targeted.

With that said, football.london has rounded up the latest news on Onana and the west Londoners' hunt for a new No.1...

'Mega demand'

Chelsea aren't putting all their eggs in one basket, it seems. While Maignan may appear to be the most popular option among Blues fans, football.london understands that signing the France international will be a far harder to complete, with Milan demanding 'mega money'.

Personal terms agreed

Chelsea have reportedly agreed personal terms with Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana ahead of Saturday's UEFA Champions League final

TuttoMercatoWeb claims that Onana has already agreed personal terms in principle with Chelsea. The Italian report, however, also claims that Inter have rejected an opening bid worth €40million (£34million).

Champions League final meeting

Chelsea are set to meet with Inter Milan representatives following the UEFA Champions League final. Romelu Lukaku's future is set to be discussed, alongside Onana.

According to the Daily Telegraph, the meeting has been scheduled for next week following the clash with Manchester City in Istanbul.

Alternative bid made

Chelsea's wait on Inter Milan's Champions League final with Inter Milan has resulted in them making a bid worth £51million for AC Milan's Mike Maignan.

According to La Repubblica (via FC Inter News), the Blues are targeting a move for the France international this summer. The report also states that Chelsea have set a plan to 'fall back on' which would be signing Onana with Kalidou Koulibaly going the other way.

Tottenham interest

Chelsea face competition from Tottenham for Onana this summer, according to SempreInter.

The report claims that Spurs have made an enquiry for the Inter goalkeeper to replace Hugo Lloris. Brentford's David Raya and Brighton's Robert Sanchez are also on the north Londoners' radar.

Agent reveals stance

Onana's agent, Albert Botines, has insisted his client is happy in Italy. Speaking in an TV interview with TV Play, he said: "Transfer market rumours are normal at this stage, but I prefer not to talk about it because it's very early and now the boy is focused only on the pitch.

"We have a five-year contract with Inter. He has another four years on his contract and now he is focused only on the Serie A final and the Champions League final. He still has a long contract, don't worry. He's very happy, he's playing for the strongest team in Italy."

Kovacic offer

According to Inter Live, Mateo Kovacic is the latest player to be mooted as a makeweight in a part-exchange deal for Onana.

The Croatian is the third player rumoured to be offered to the Italian side. The report adds that Kovacic would be open to a return to the Nerazzurri, though he looks set to join Manchester City.

Kepa swap

Inter Milan are reportedly not interested in signing Kepa Arrizabalaga as part of the deal to see Onana move to Chelsea.

According to TuttoMercatoWeb, the idea of the Spain international moving to San Siro has been shut down by Inter. It's said their preference is to inherit a lump sum for the goalkeeper.

Not for sale

Inter Milan chief executive officer Giuseppe Marotta has revealed that there are no plans to sell Onana this summer.

"Onana leaving for €40million (£34million)? I'd rule this out, honestly. We think he will stay," he said. "We have not received any offers and Onana is happy in Milano, he wants to stay here. We do not plan to sell him."

Mendy exchange

Chelsea are prepared to offer goalkeeper Edouard Mendy to Inter Milan to sign Onana this summer.

According to Inter Live, the Blues have considered offering the Senegalese shot-stopper in the hope that Inter will accept a lower transfer fee.

Onana interest

In May, it was reported that Chelsea had already begun conversations with Inter over Onana's future following a meeting to discuss Romelu Lukaku.

It is said that Onana's services were discussed, with a fee of €40million (£35million) mooted.
