Everton have received late transfer window interest in Andre Gomes from French side Lille.
The ECHO understands that the 29-year-old could be getting closer to securing a move away from Goodison Park late in the summer to the Ligue 1 side, with the midfielder having left Finch Farm early on Thursday and flown out to undertake a medical.
Frank Lampard and Kevin Thelwell have made moves to strengthen that area of the pitch for the Blues this summer with the arrival of Amadou Onana already confirmed.

Idrissa Gueye is closing in on a switch return to Goodison Park, while the club have also reportedly reached a deal to bring James Garner to the club on a permanent basis from Manchester United.
Gomes was back on the bench for the first time this season against Leeds United having missed the opening matches of the campaign through injury. Over the course of his time at Everton he has made 100 appearances for the club, scoring two goals in that time.
The midfielder signed a five-year contract when moving to Merseyside on a permanent basis, with two years left of that deal still to run.
