Everton could yet move for 33-year-old free agent Andre Ayew after the transfer deadline expired on Tuesday, according to the latest reports.
Despite club sources yesterday distancing the Blues from a potential swoop for Ayew, it remains to be seen if he could now be explored as a free option.
The Daily Mail today claimed Ayew will fly to England in the next 24 hours after leaving Al Sadd with a "£2.5million golden handshake". Their report suggests he has held talks with Everton, but insists no final decision has been made yet.

The winger ripped up his contract with Qatar Stars League side Al Sadd last week, but didn't give a reason for his mid-season departure.
Ayew spent a year-and-a-half in Qatar, making 39 appearances and scoring 21 goals.
Last season, Ayew won the Amir Cup and helped Al Sadd to an invincible season in the Qatar Stars League.
Upon his departure Ayew said: "Big thanks to Al Sadd SC, the coaches and management who believed in me at Al Sadd SC, especially Xavi who brought me here."
Ayew has earned 113 caps for Ghana. He played all three matches of his country's 2022 World Cup campaign with his only goal coming in a 3-2 defeat to Portugal.
The Ghana captain has previously had two spells in the Premier League with Swansea City and one with West Ham.
Across his Premier League career, Ayew made 89 appearances, scoring 21 goals between 2015 and 2018.
Most of Ayew's Premier League appearances came in his first spell with The Swans.
While primarily left-footed Ayew played in positions across the front three during his time in South Wales.
The forward scored his only goal against Everton for Swansea in a 2-1 win at Goodison Park in January 2016.
Ayew initially departed Swansea for West Ham in 2016 for a fee believed to be around £20m.
The Ghanaian had a good first season with The Irons, but struggled in his second term before returning to Swansea in the January transfer window.
Ayew has also had stints at France's Olympique Marseille and FC Lorient as well as a loan spell at Fenerbahce in Turkey.
Andre Ayew is the brother of Jordan Ayew who currently plays in the Premier League for Crystal Palace.
