AMARAVATI: TDP legislators marched to the assembly raising slogans against the state government on Monday. TDP legislators led by party deputy floor leader in the assembly K Atchannaidu and MLC Nara Lokesh visited Venkatapalem and garlanded the statue of NTR before reaching the assembly.
They walked to the assembly sporting protest banners and flags against the "anti-people" policies of the state government. The TDP legislators demanded that the state government should immediately hand over the Tidco houses to the beneficiaries without waiting to secure the bank loans.
Party legislator from Palakollu in West Godavari district Nimmala Ramanaidu had in fact reached party supremo Chandrababu Naidu’s residence to attend the TDLP meeting in a cycle rally from his home-town. It took four-days for Ramanaiadu to reach Undavalli from Palakollu. He said that the state government had deliberately abandoned the Tidco houses constructed during TDP regime only out of jealous about Naidu.
He said that thousands of beneficiaries were struggling to get the shelter due to YS Jagan Mohan Reddy government policies. He alleged that Jagan promised to waive off all the loans of Tidco houses beneficiaries while in opposition and failed to keep the promise after coming into government.
TDP senior legislator Gorantla Butchaiah Chowdary said the state government had pushed the state into financial bankruptcy. All sections of society including farmers, employees, jobless youth and political rivals were being persecuted endlessly. He appealed to the government to listen to the opposition's voice on the people's problems. He criticized that the ruling YSRCP members were not ready to allow free debate in the House.
Earlier in the day, party supremo Chandrababu Naidu chaired the TDLP meet at his residence to guide the legislators on the issues to be raised during the session. Naidu had decided to abstain from the assembly till he returned to power in the next elections.
