Andhra Pradesh: Kadapa court sentences murder case accused to 10 years imprisonment

TIRUPATI: A local court at Proddatur in Andhra Pradesh's YSR Kadapa district sentenced the accused in a murder case to undergo ten years imprisonment and slapped a fine of Rs.50,000 on him.

According to the Kadapa police, the accused Sirivella Doraswamy (33) stabbed his wife's paternal uncle Gundala Sudhakar (30) to death in 2017 after an altercation with him in an inebriated state.

Proddatur II town police registered a case and arrested the accused.

Following a prolonged trail for more than six years, the 2nd ADJ court at Proddatur pronounced the verdict in the case and sentenced the accused to ten years imprisonment along with a fine.

YSR district SP Siddharth Kaushal appreciated the efforts put in by the Proddatur II town police in getting justice to the bereaved family.
