VIJAYAWADA: Chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Wednesday wrote a letter to external affairs minister S Jaishakar alerting the minister about the current uncertainties and tensions in Ukraine.
Ukraine has already declared emergency in the country following the Russian armed forces taking position around Ukraine, heading for a war.
The chief minister said that the students from Andhra Pradesh studying in various universities in Ukraine have sought assistance from the state to return home safely.
He said that the officials of Andhra Pradesh are in constant touch with the officials of the Indian Embassy in Ukraine and also with the officials of the ministry of external affairs to assist the students to return home.
He requested the ministry of external affairs and the Indian embassy in Ukraine to contact the resident commissioner of AP Bhavan in Delhi or the officials of the chief minister’s office in the state for any assistance.
