Vizianagaram: Atleast two persons, including a child, were killed and 15 others injured in a road accident when a private bus crashed into a stationary lorry on the NH-16 near Madhupada of Gajapathinagaram mandal in Vizianagaram district on Saturday morning.
The incident took place when a group of people from Odisha were going in a bus of the Anil Neerukonda Institute of Dental Sciences.

The incident happened when the bus was returning from Odisha.
Police version
According to police officials, the private travel bus with around 40 passengers was heading to Vizag city from Odisha when the accident occurred. The driver of the bus lost control of the wheel and hit the stationary lorry from behind.

Two people died on the spot, and the condition of several others is critical. Several passengers sustained severe injuries. The injured were stuck in the bus for more than one hour as they had no way to get out.
Meanwhile, the rescue operations are underway to free the passengers trapped inside the bus.
