Credit to holder Daniel Whelan, who caught a high snap from long snapper Matt Orzech and got down a clean hold for Carlson, who hit the ball well and made the 52-yarder with ease. The kick split the uprights.

Carlson’s leg strength is an asset. The sixth-round pick made a 57-yard field goal at Lambeau Field during the preseason.

Note: Carlson’s field goal on Sunday in Chicago was the first field goal attempted or made by a Packers kicker not named Mason Crosby since 2006.
