With so many people currently working from home, lots of us are spending a lot more time in front of our computers than ever before, which can lead to more neck, back and headaches than usual.
We’ve all been there, pulled a late-night gaming session with friends only to peel yourself away from your desk at some ungodly hour with your neck, back feeling crooked and like you've fallen out of a window and landed on your spine.
Just speaking for myself my chairs at home are not up to the task and sitting in them for anything longer than a couple of hours feels like some sort of cruel torture.
Anda Seat are one of the leading manufacturers of gaming chairs for professional gamers. They claim to have made a chair for those who need to be comfortable for prolonged play or streaming sessions.
Anda Seat has joined forces with Fnatic to produce a special edition Fnatic gaming chair worthy of an e-sports champion.
Fnatic are one of the most successful, professional e-sports teams in the world.
Founded in 2004 and have won over 200 championships including League of Legends World Championship with members from all around the world.
The team has played PUBG, Rainbow Six Siege, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive competitively and are world-renowned pros.
How it looks
I used to think once I’d seen one gaming chair, I had seen them all but thanks to Anda Seat I was wrong.
The chair is an attractive matt black with orange trim and orange details, and orange Fnatic logo on the base and a small orange Anda seat logo on the top.
The seat also sports large a black Fnatic logo on the back, allowing you to rep your favourite team in style.
The first thing that struck me, is that this was actually a gaming chair I liked the look of and that wouldn’t look ridiculous in a home.
The Anda Seat is not covered in hideous garish colours and multiple logos. The orange trim and small logo adds a nice eye-catching flare, while the two-colour scheme really illustrates this a chair that is a seat for pros without looking like a child’s toy.
The dimensions of the chair are 42 x 60 x 91 cm which puts it on the beefy end of the scale. It weighs 30 Kilograms which makes it quite heavy and difficult to move up and downstairs so assembling it can be a real workout.
But while it’s heavy, once it’s built it feels strong, solid, comfortable, and reliable which I found very reassuring.
Built to last
The build quality of this chair is fantastic, and due to its metal frame, Leather PVC, and dense memory foam, this thing can stand up to a beating.
The PVC leather feels tough, resistant to tearing and hard-wearing while being soft and easy to clean.
The High-density mould shaping foam gives a generous amount of padding which is nicely curved to ergonomically support you during prolonged seating.
The frame is built out of a solid durable 22mm diameter steel alloy which feels safe and sturdy.
Its 5-Star base is also made of Aluminium which makes it feel strong and stable but also helps in feel balanced and support the chairs reclining.
Anda Seat previously manufactured race car seats for BMW & Mercedes Benz and that premium build quality can certainly be felt here.
Assembly required
The Anda Seat arrived in about 8 solid parts, not including the pillows or 5 wheels. These solid pieces not only made it easy to slot together but really illustrated straight away how well built and sturdy even the individual pieces are.
The instructions were short and simple to follow and the chair was simple to put together with the two provided Allen keys.
It took me about 35 minutes to assemble without rushing, but I can imagine it would take most people about 20 to 30 mins.
Features
The premium PVC Leather is tough, comfortable yet breathable and didn’t make me sweat or stick to it like some cheaper chairs I’ve tried in the past. It was also easy to clean and didn’t have any plastic, rubber, or chemical smell.
It comes with two dense memory foam neck and lumbar support pillows. These pillows are completely removable.
While the seat is fine without them, I tend to lean backwards while gaming and really appreciate the extra bit of comfort these pillows offered in key areas.
They also help maintain my posture and stopped me from slouching while still feeling supported when I was relaxed.
The chair is adjustable from 90 to 160 degrees with 5 lockable positions and the height can also be adjusted with the Class 4 Hydraulic Nitrogen Pistons.
I was pleasantly surprised as reclining was so much more comfortable than I expected, I was shocked I even fell asleep a couple of times.
The 4D armrests are large, giving ample space to rest your arms and take off some of the strain. It can be adjusted in all directions, so you can customise it to find the right position for you. The armrests gave support to my forearm and really helped comfort my wrists when I have been typing or gaming for hours.
The armrests are also upholstered in cold foam and, due to their texture they offer a decent amount of grip, so my elbows wouldn’t go sliding off.
The seat supports a maximum weight capacity of 200kg, so it’s ideal for a larger gamer who is looking for posture support.
I’m not yet sure how anyone could make a dent in this beast, but if you did, Anda Seat offers a lifetime framework warranty on the frame and six years for parts.
This premium build and comfort comes at a premium cost and at around £400 that puts it out of range for a large number of gamers, however, the build quality and design highlights this chair as an investment from those who spend a lot of time at their computer.
There is no footrest built into this chair and while that’s not a standard feature on gaming chairs, at this price it would be a welcome addition.
If you have the money and really want to take care of your body while gaming this is a top tier gaming chair.
Verdict

One thing I am absolutely certain of, if there is ever a nuclear apocalypse, reducing mankind and its cities to radioactive ash, I know for a fact two things will survive unscathed.
