'And rightly so' - Manchester United fans react to Erik ten Hag punishment after Brentford loss

Erik ten Hag has cancelled the Manchester United squad's day off after they suffered an embarrassing loss to Brentford on Saturday evening.

It was United's second defeat of the new Premier League campaign after losing to Brighton at Old Trafford on the opening weekend. Ten Hag's side fell behind when Josh Dasilva's strike somehow beat David de Gea, before the Bees added three more goals in the next 25 minutes with Mathias Jensen, Ben Mee and Bryan Mbuemo scoring to compound United's misery.

It was a humiliating defeat for the United manager, and one he's clearly not going to forget about in a hurry. Speaking after the game, he slammed the performance as 'unacceptable'.

The following day (Sunday), the United manager is understood to have cancelled the players' day off and called them into training. It's a move that doesn't usually go down well with players, but one the United manager clearly feels necessary after their embarrassing loss.
