Cam Fowler, the Anaheim Ducks’ 12th overall pick in the 2010 NHL Draft, has been traded to the St. Louis Blues. Fowler was the second-longest tenured player in Ducks’ history and played 991 career games for the organization over 15 years.

Fowler, 33, is a former NHL All-Star and a member of the 2014 US Olympic team who finished fourth in Sochi, Russia. He is also the all-time leading goal, assist, and point scorer by a Ducks defenseman in franchise history.
As expected, fans had reactions to Fowler’s trade.
What NHL Fans Said About Cam Fowler’s Trade
Reactions were mixed about the news and which team won the trade.
Some fans believe this bolsters the Blues’ chances while others believe this trade does not help the Blues get younger and faster.
TylerBueno said: “Brings experience, leadership. Bolsters Blues’ D-corps.”
Christmas Drill (14-14-2) said: “For a team that needs to get younger and faster, this makes no sense for STL”
Matt Whelan believes this is a veteran addition to an already young Blues team. He said, “The team is young and fast. It’s to replace a vet LHD in Nick Leddy. Short term contract left. Doesn’t interfere with anything.”
A number of Ducks fans were understandably upset that Fowler did not get to play in his 1,000th game with the team.

Anaheim Ducks fans already have March 7, 2025, marked on their calendars. That is the next time the Ducks host the Blues. In the near term, the Blues host the Ducks on January 9, 2025.
When Will Cam Fowler Make His Blues Debut?
The Blues have two games this weekend. On Saturday, December 14, they are at Dallas, and on Sunday, they host the New York Rangers.
The team has played well under new coach Jim Montgomery. They are 5-2-1 since Montgomery took over on November 24, 2024.
Montgomery is eager for Cam Fowler to join the team, and it sounds like he will play a lot of minutes when he gets settled in.
