Christmas posting to Great Britain and Europe closed yesterday - and An Post have warned the public to get their domestic post in with the Ireland deadline fast approaching.
Wednesday (December 21) is the absolute final day for letters and parcels to be posted around the country. Customers have also been reminded that there is no mail delivery or collection from Christmas Eve until December 28, with mail delivery and collection services returning on December 29.
Meanwhile, today is the final day for anyone sending post to Northern Ireland if you want it to arrive before Christmas.
Anna McHugh of An Post told Newstalk: "If you still have to post letters to parts of Great Britain or the rest of Europe, you really should have done it by yesterday.
“So, again, get those in the post today because there’s all kinds of bad weather around the place and there are huge volumes going through the system. So, the sooner you do it the better.”
Ms McHugh added: "Thursday is the absolute latest date for posting within the Republic of Ireland.
“That’s letters and parcels and as always; pack them properly with lots of tape, lots of strong paper, always include a return address.”
