An Iconic Luxury Automaker Is About to Release a Hybrid Supercar (And Costs Over $500,000)

Lamborghini is out with a powerhouse new hybrid called Revuelto, a term that means “scrambled” or “turned” in Italian.

The new 2024 supercar isn’t scrambled in the traditional sense, it’s Lamborghini’s way of reintroducing the concept of a hybrid vehicle to a new global audience.

The high-end vehicle manufacturer has put its unique stamp on the Revuelto.

What Is the Revuelto?

The vehicle offers a plug-in hybrid electric powertrain V-12 engine, which combined with the Revuelto’s trio of electric motors to generate a blockbuster 1,0001 horsepower paired with a double-clutch gearbox that makes its debut on a 12-cylinder Lamborghini for maximum road performance. Lamborghini notes a zero-to-62-mph time of 2.5 seconds and a top speed of 217 mph.

Lamborghini has partnered with Bridgestone, developing bespoke Potenza Sport tires to enhance the new car’s sporty and high-speed capabilities. Additionally, the Revuelto comes with a completely new Human Machine Interface (HMI) system consisting of three displays with 3D graphics, animations, widgets, and styling.

“The new Revuelto is a milestone in the history of Lamborghini, and an important pillar in our Direzione Cor Tauri electrification strategy,” said Stephan Winkelmann, Lamborghini Chairman, and CEO. “It is a unique and innovative car but at the same time faithful to our DNA: the V12 is an iconic symbol of our super sports heritage and history.”

Revuelto was “born to break the mold, combining a new 12-cylinder engine with hybrid technology,” Winkelmann notes, thus creating the “perfect balance between delivering the emotion that our clients want with the necessity to reduce emissions,” he added.

The new Revuelto will set you back $542,000 – about 500,000 euros, but few Lamborghini lovers seem to be complaining. Unofficially, orders are rumored to already be stacking up for the new supercar hybrid, but delivery times are long, at about 18-to-24 months.

Winkelman told Yahoo Finance he’s hoping Lamborghini can get those order delivery times down to 12-to-18 months. Meanwhile, the company has said Revuelto sales will officially kick off in 2024.
