I wonder if there is someone in a back office at the Conservative party headquarters using a chatbot to generate a post-election note along the lines of Liam Byrne’s “there is no money [left]”. (AI will end the west’s weak productivity and low growth. But who exactly will benefit?, 7 April). Without the benefit of any technological aid, I suggest: “Everything is broken. You could try switching it off and on again, but it probably won’t work.”
