Emmerdale 's Amy Walsh revealed that giving birth to her and her boyfriend Toby-Alexander Smith's baby was a 'tough' process.
The couple, who moved in with each other at the beginning of lockdown, recently welcomed baby daughter Bonnie.
However, the birthing process wasn't an easy one for Amy, 34.
Appearing on Loose Women to discuss life as a new mum, the soap actress explained: "Yeah, it was tough. It wasn't easy at all. I kind of prepared myself for the worst but it was worse than the worst.
"I had to be induced for various reasons and risk of infection which obviously just catapults you doesn't it. The contractions were going fast but I wasn't dilating.
"It was just really hard to get her out at the end and various other complications. I had an epidural because of the induction but that came out so I had to have another one reinstated mid worst part of your contractions."
EastEnders Toby, who played serial killer Gray Atkins on the soap, joined Amy on the panel and discussed how he felt.
The 31-year-old explained: "It's so hard watching the person you love and care about, which is ultimately a magical thing, going through so much pain."
Amy and Toby welcomed their daughter Bonnie in December last year. They confirmed the news in the new year.
They confirmed the arrival to OK!, saying: "Well…it’s been a busy week! Hope you all had a good one. HAPPY NEW YEAR from the three of us."
Emmerdale star Amy and Toby also shared a sweet snap of themselves pushing a pram and looking lovingly at their newborn.
Amy, who is the sister of Girls Aloud star Kimberley, said in November that she felt like she was "made" to give birth.
She said: "I feel weirdly excited about it.
"I’m sure everyone who’s been through it reading this will laugh but it’s something I’ve always wanted to experience."

Amy, who plays Tracy Metcalfe, and Toby, announced in September that they were expecting their first child together.
She told OK! magazine at the time: "It feels as though the way everything happened was meant to be.
