Amy Macdonald impersonated on Tinder as Scots singer delighted fake profile says she's 23

Scots singer Amy Macdonald has revealed that a fake profile using her photo is circulating on Tinder - and she's surprisingly chuffed about it.

The 35-year-old This Is The Life singer shared the catfish profile which goes by the name of 'Mercedes' using selfies of the star, while the bio stated: "Mercedes, 23. Recently single, bonus points if you have a dog, need a clubbing partner."

Amy, who is happily married to footballer Richard Forster, took to Twitter to share the profile, writing: "Ok - my first thought about the person using my photo on tinder is actually endless gratitude that they think I can happily pass for 23."

She also noted how the imposter went to the effort to photoshop freckles on her face. She added: "Also, I like the freckles that you’ve photoshopped onto my face. Not mad about the clubbing or being called Mercedes. Next time maybe Lamborghini or Ferrari."

Fans thought it was hilarious. One wrote: "Amy Mercedes Macdonald got a bit of a ring to it I must say!!"

While another commented: "Someone's going to end up on @CatfishMTV thinking they're dating you soon."

And another added: "Does @Richard19Foster know about you being "Recently single".

Amy and Richard tied the knot in Vegas in 2018 and despite him being based in the US for work, the pair seem to still be in love as they posted snaps recently of a trip to Washington DC.

The Scots singer isn't the only celeb to have issues with Tinder profiles. Earlier this year Lewis Capaldi revealed that he actually did sign up for the dating up but was later banned as it was thought that he was a 'fake profile'.

Speaking on Steven Barlett's podcast The Diary of a CEO, the Forget Me singer told the entrepreneur that he's been banned from Tinder.

Steven said: "So, you're on Tinder? You're on dating apps?"

Lewis laughed and said: "Yes! I've just been kicked off of Tinder, because I think people think I am fake! So I've been kicked off of Bumble, Tinder and Hinge! I really love Tinder but Hinge is the one I really want to get on cause I feel like that's the one people in their mid-twenties, that's the one people are on! But yeah, I'm on a bunch of them don't worry about that."
