Welsh Strictly Come Dancing star Amy Dowden married her long-term partner and fellow dancer Ben Jones a month ago. Amy's wedding had been originally planned for 2020 but was pushed back due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Surrounded by family and friends, including fellow Strictly Come Dancing stars, Amy and Ben celebrated their big day at the gorgeous wedding venue Oldwalls in Gower. Amy's twin sister Becky Dowden, who is rarely seen in the spotlight, has now posted a sweet message to Amy about being her maid of honour.
Posting to her Instagram account Becky touchingly spoke about their childhood and the privilege of being Amy's maid of honour. She said: "From day one, we have always been there for each other, from our first day at school to our first dance lesson, to be there to see you win the British Nationals and then go on to be on Strictly Come Dancing."

Becky, who is a midwife, added: "However, nothing will top being by your side again and seeing you say "I do". Thank you for choosing me as your Maid of Honour."
Included in the Instagram post are sweet pictures of Amy, Becky, and their family at the wedding. It also features a video of Amy singing along to Five Colours In Her Hair with her former Strictly Come Dancing partner and McFly frontman Tom Fletcher. Recently Amy joined Tom's wife Giovanna Fletcher on a charity hike in Pembrokeshire to raise money for the charity CoppaFeel. Since the wedding Amy has been sharing that she is back rehearsing for the 2022 series of Strictly Come Dancing after becoming "a little bit poorly" with Crohn's disease, which she has suffered with since the age of 11.
Amy has always spoken openly about her Crohn's disease and hopes to show the realities of living with the disease but not letting it stop you.
