Amy Childs' blended family and why she keeps son out of limelight but not her daughter

Amy Childs has announced the happy news that she and her boyfriend Billy Delbosq are expecting twins together.

The Only Way Is Essex star Amy, 32, is already a proud mum to daughter Polly, five, and son Ritchie, four, from previous relationships.

Now, the reality TV icon is set to become a mum-of-four as she is expecting twins with her boyfriend Billy, 39, who she has been dating for just over a year.

Amy had planned on getting pregnant next year so the news had come as a surprise to her and she was even more shocked when she was told she was having twins.

"I did say I’d probably like a baby next year – get Ritch going to school because he’ll be starting school in September," she told OK! magazine.

Amy added: "Sometimes you plan it, but it sometimes doesn’t work out that way. We didn’t think it would happen so quickly. I had my coil removed because I was having some complications with it, but my doctor said it takes a while for it to come out of your system. Within two months I was pregnant.

"I don’t think people thought I would have any more children, but since meeting Bill I’ve felt completely different."

Here, we take a look at Amy's growing blended family and why she chooses to keep her son away from the spotlight but not her daughter.

Amy is a proud mum to daughter Polly, five, and four-year-old son Ritchie.

She shares her daughter Polly with her businessman ex Bradley Wright, but the father of her first born doesn't have a relationship with Polly.

In 2020, the TOWIE star revealed her eldest child sees Amy's dad, Billy, as a father figure.

She told her dad in an emotional TOWIE scene: "Her biological dad has never been around, he walked even when she was six weeks old and we've never seen him again, which was obviously hard.

"But she's got you dad, you're the best dad to me, you're the best dad ever to me. But for Polly, how amazing that you've now took on Polly as one of your own. And she loves you more than anything."

Amy's boyfriend Billy, whom she began dating last year, has since shared hopes to adopt Polly.

She told OK!: "The lovely thing Bill said the other month is he’d love to adopt Polly one day, which means so much to me".

Polly regularly features on TOWIE alongside her mum, who rose to fame on the show. But, Amy's son Ritchie doesn't feature on the programme or on her social media feeds.

Red head Amy shares her son with her former boyfriend Ritchie, who chose to stay away from the spotlight.

Over the years Amy has been flooded with questions as to why she doesn't show her son on social media or the reality show she is known for.

Amy has previously explained: "I must get about 20 messages a day about Ritchie, but basically me and Ritchie's dad agreed together not to put Ritchie on social media or TOWIE."

She added to The Sun: "He is a beautiful little boy, he is like a mini-me and of course I love him every bit as much as Polly. Polly has a different dad and I made a different decision with Polly and it is that simple."
