Lions wide receiver has been hit with a massive fine for unnecessary roughness in Detroit’s Week 11 win over the Chicago Bears.
St. Brown was fined $43,709 for a fairly innocuous-looking block. It was the largest fine levied by the NFL on the week, more than double of any other infraction from Week 11. St. Brown was not penalized on the play, which came at 8:11 of the first quarter.

It’s not just running backs: The NFL fined #Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown $43,709 for this block last week against Chicago.

There is no note from the league on the communique listing the fines for the week, but apparently the perception (reinforced by Pelissero’s post) is that St. Brown lowered his head and used it to initiate contact on the block.
St. Brown can appeal the fine. It appears he would have a solid case.
