The acclaim keeps on shining for the “Sun God”. Lions wideout Amon-Ra St. Brown has earned the NFC Offensive Player of the Week honors for his stellar performance in Detroit’s Week 2 win over the Washington Commanders.
St. Brown caught nine passes for 116 yards and two touchdowns in the Lions 36-27 triumph. The prolific production saw St. Brown tie the NFL record for the most consecutive games with at least eight receptions and extended his historical string of six straight games with eight or more catches and a touchdown.
It marks the first such honor for St. Brown in his career, which spans just 19 games. Quarterback Jared Goff was the last Lions player to earn the award in Week 13 last season.
Former Lions CB Darius Slay captured the NFC Defensive Player of the Week with two interceptions and five total PDs in Philadelphia’s win over Minnesota.
