Amish woman tears up as she tries on bikini for the first time to 'feel beautiful'

Rosanna Miller was left in tears as she tried on a bikini for the first time in the hopes of "feeling beautiful".

As part of the Amish community in Pennsylvania, Rosanna had never worn an English swimsuit. Amish women typically wear mid-calf length skirts with a long-sleeved blouse or shirt underneath.

They also cover their heads, usually with a bonnet.

Return to Amish star Rosana said she wanted to be try and be "proud of my body" and so headed to the shop with her boyfriend Johnny Detweiler and pals Jethro Nolt and Fannie Schmucker.

There, she ditched her traditional Amish clothes and stepped out wearing a tiny red bikini.

Rosanna was overcome with emotion as she saw herself in swimwear for the first time ever.

When she came out of the changing room, her friend Jethro cheered.

Speaking to her pals, she said: "I'm so excited about my English clothes that I can't wait to go and try them on and go to the beach."

She was initially a little apprehensive, but Fannie reassured her saying: "That looks good on you."

Sadly, her boyfriend Johnny wasn't quite as impressed with the new look and his friend Kenneth agreed.

"I get it. I wouldn’t want my girlfriend dressed like that in front of other men," he told Johnny.

Johnny said it all became "too much" for him to see Rosanna wearing the bikini. He added: "That's not who I want to be with. That's not what I want."

After putting her Amish clothes back on, Rosanna told the cameras: "I wanted to feel beautiful about myself, and I totally did not feel beautiful about myself because of Johnny."

Speaking to her partner, she explained her decision to try on the swimsuit.

"That's why I left the Amish, to go out and do stuff like that," she said.

Rosanna added in a confessional: "The Amish, they never shame the men, and they don’t know how it feels. I want to be proud of myself and my body."
