Amir Khan vs Kell Brook rematch clause clarified but both boxers say the same thing

Kell Brook and Amir Khan have confirmed there is a rematch clause ahead of their upcoming grudge match - though both fighters believe it won't be needed.

The pair will finally face-off at Manchester's AO Arena on February 19th, following a decade of rivalry and foul taste between the two.

That has made the event one of the most fiercely-anticipated bouts in the UK for years and sets the stage for what is set to be a huge year for boxing.

However, it may not necessarily be a one-off affair - although both fighters believe their opponent will not want to take a second bout.

Confirming the rematch clause, Brook said: "I leave it to my manager, my dad and to my team. All I'm interested in is this fight.

"I do know that there's going to be a rematch if Amir Khan wants that. If Amir Khan wants another beatdown he can have one."

Khan was equally defiant in his comments regarding a potential rematch, expressing his confidence of a knockout triumph.

"I think the beating that Kell's going to take, I don't think he'll want to have a rematch to be honest with you.

"Look, it is there. As both fighters, we looked at this fight and thought if it's such a good fight, the last thing we want is having issues with doing a rematch, so why not put it in there?

"That way, we know exactly there will be a rematch as well if it's such a good fight and such a competitive and close fight. The way that I look at it is that I don't think it will be.

"I think it will be a one-sided fight where I don't think there will be the need for a rematch."
