Amir Khan and Kell Brook finally brought their rivalry to a head with a showdown in front of a packed crowd at the Manchester Arena.
The two had spoken about facing each other since 2014, and although they have fought the same opponents and going down a similar path, a fight between them has not happened until now.
In the end, it was Brook who emerged victorious after inflicting hefty punishment upon Khan and won via a sixth-round stoppage, with the referee bringing an end to the contest.
Both had gone back and forth on the idea of retirement but it now seems that while Khan will indeed hang up his gloves, Brook is mulling over the idea of a return and a bout against Chris Eubank Jr.
Whilst both Khan and Brook have had outstanding careers, going on to win world titles, they have both suffered devastating losses in recent years, being on the receiving end of some big shots from Terence Crawford.
Both fighters were warned for their use of offensive language in a fiery press conference on Thursday which saw Sky Sports issue an apology to viewers.
Both will receive one last big pay day, and here's all you need to know how much they're scheduled to make.
When was the fight?
Khan faced Brook in Manchester on Saturday, February 19 - and six rounds of frantic action occurred in front of a packed arena.
Brook inflicted heavy punishment upon his opponent, with Khan showing plenty of chin and keeping himself going before ultimately falling short.
At the start of the sixth, Khan looked shaky and Brook took that as encouragement to go on the offensive - which ultimately led the referee to call an end to the bout.
What was said?
Kell Brook:
During the tense press conference, Brook said about his dislike of Khan: "It will be hard to curb it, but I will try to do that - it's real, genuinely real. There is a dislike from both sides.
"People two people don't like each other and want to win so badly, you get an amazing fight - we will stand and fight in the middle of the ring at times. He will want to be on the back foot and box."
Amir Khan:
Meanwhile Khan said: “I’m worried about a few things, one being Kell’s health after the beating I’m going to be giving him come fight night. The beating he’s going to get is something he’s never had before.
“We are going to definitely put him in his place. This has been going on for 10 years. Kell has always been very obsessed with my career, he is like a fanboy, which is the honest truth.
“I’ve been living in his head for so long now where there comes a time where he asks me to pay rent. I think we have done enough talking, I can’t wait to get in the ring and do a job on him now.”
How much did both fighters make?
Khan will reportedly earn £5million for the bout, with Brook set to take home £3million and, as the winner, he will also receive a sizeable bonus.
Bolton star Khan has said he is getting a "lion's share" of the purse, whilst Brook agreed that his opponent is the "a-side'" fighter ahead of the clash.
