US President Joe Biden recently announced at the White House that Americans would be among those released in the initial phase. However, specific details such as the exact number of Americans to be released, their identities, and their current conditions were not disclosed.
It is important to note that there are a total of seven American hostages being held in Gaza. Among them, three individuals are presumed to be alive, namely Edan Alexander, Sagui Dekel-Chen, and Keith Siegel. Edan Alexander is identified as an IDF soldier. During the first phase of the ceasefire, priority is given to vulnerable groups such as women, the elderly, and the sick for release.
Tragically, four other American hostages have been declared deceased, and efforts are ongoing to repatriate their remains.
