Dozens of Americans living in London gathered at Passyunk Avenue, an American-themed bar, to watch the election results unfold alongside fellow expats. The bar's general manager, Tim Mullin, who relocated to the UK three years ago, hosted his first election party, anticipating over 200 attendees for the event that was set to last well into the next morning.
One attendee, Damon, a supporter of Harris from San Francisco, emphasized the significance of elections, stating, 'Democracy is a huge thing for us, so there's a lot of pride today.' He highlighted the global impact of US elections, expressing the collective anticipation felt by many at the event.
Another participant, known as Stub, was drawn to the event for the diverse atmosphere and the opportunity to witness varied reactions among the attendees. He noted the mix of nationalities present, adding an element of intrigue to the election viewing experience.
For some, the election night gathering served as a way to connect with the American community while being away from home, fostering a sense of camaraderie as the vote count progressed.
