Americans 'baffled' that Grey Anatomy's star is Scottish after viral Tunnocks video

There have been multiple occasions where we've watched a TV series or film and afterwards have done a bit of digging into the actors and actresses.

And whilst they may have one accent on screen, it's usually completely different off screen with Alfred Enoch being a prime example of having an American accent, only to really be from the UK, appearing on How To Get Away With Murder as well as Harry Potter.

And it's no different when it comes to a certain ginger Scot who is known globally.

Kevin McKidd is well-known for making a regular appearance on shows such as Grey's Anatomy playing Dr Owen Hunt as well as Trainspotting appearing as Tommy Mackenzie.

However since the popular video circulated online, people have been left a little more than shocked after the actor began talking.

The 48-year-old who was born in Elgin made an appearance on a recent TikTok video all about the classic Tunnock’s tea cake.

Captioning the video friend Iain Robertson said: "Dame Barbara Rafferty turned me on to the life changing buzz of squishing a Tunnock’s tea cake. The bold hero thought I was at the wind up … I’m telling ye it will change yer life (& ye can still eat it!)."

He can then be seen standing with the teacake in his hand in the wrapping before making Kevin do the same.

He then says "it's a buzz, right" before squashing the teacake in their hands and hysterically laughing.

Kevin adds: "It's a buzz? How is that a buzz?" as he unwraps the squashed biscuit laughing his head off too.

Taking to the comments many people said that it was not the way to eat it with one suggesting "Sacrilege! I pick the chocolate off, eat the mallow and then the biscuit."

However others were more focused on the accent with many of them unaware he really is Scottish.

One said: "I feel like I’m in another dimension right now!! How is hunt SCOTTISH?? How didn’t I know this?? Haha howling!!! His American accent is mega!!"

Another added: "Why didn’t I know Dr Hunt was Scottish?"

"I'm bet it's really gonna blow some peoples minds when they find out he was in brave" a third said.

But not everyone was as shocked with users finding it more bizarre they didn't know adding: "I mean I'm Scottish and it's weird hearing Dr Hunt with his Scottish accent."

Another questioned: "How can people not know he is Scottish have you no seen Trainspotting or Looking after jojo."
