Family claim they have heard from American woman reported missing from Mexico hotel

Sourced

The family of an American woman reported missing while staying at a resort in Mexico claim they have now heard from her.

Officials had said that Nekendra Karen Kingston was a guest at the Barcelo Hotel in Playa del Carmen when she disappeared, reported ABC News.

Ms Kingston, 49, had not been heard from since 9 August, and her family filed a complaint on 19 August.

But her brother took to X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, to post an update on his sister.

“My sister Karen Kingston has spoken with the family today. She is safe and getting healthy. Thank you for all the prayers! They have been answered. There will be more to say in the upcoming days,” wrote Ron Kuchler on X.

Earlier in the month, Mr Kuchlar had put out a string of statements about his then-missing sister.

“For the past couple weeks we have been working privately to resolve a family matter pertaining to my sister Karen Kingston. Unfortunately, when some high profile individuals were wrapped in this matter, it necessitated public statements from us. Our priority continues to be the health and safety of Karen,” he wrote on 13 August.

And the day before the family wrote that Ms Kingston had been suffering from Malaria, and that “Her behavior strongly indicates Karen needs to be seen immediately by a physician.”

The statement added: “The family requests that you stop speculating and politicizing on matters in which you are not fully informed and delete any personal speculation along those lines. With all due respect, you do not know what we know, are not entitled to what we know, and are interfering with our ability to resolve Karen’s immediate medical needs.”
