An American woman accused of murdering her two youngest children in Colorado last December is currently facing an extradition battle in a London court. The woman allegedly told her 11-year-old daughter, who survived the attack, that God made her commit the heinous act.

The prosecution revealed that the girl pleaded for her life after being slashed in the neck with a knife by the accused, who then proceeded to cut her again despite the child's pleas for mercy.

The accused denies the charges and is contesting her extradition to the United States. Her defense attorney argues that the potential sentence of life without parole in Colorado, where the killings occurred, would violate European human rights law.

The woman, aged 36, is facing multiple charges including two counts of first-degree murder for the shooting and stabbings of her 9-year-old daughter and 7-year-old son, as well as one count of attempted murder for injuring her older daughter with a knife.

The defense attorney raised concerns about the inhumanity of a life without parole sentence, citing the lack of prospects for release even in cases of rehabilitation. The court was adjourned to verify reports of previous commutations of first-degree murder sentences in Colorado.

Details emerged during the hearing that the accused was in a custody battle with her ex-husband at the time of the killings. The tragic incident was discovered after an emergency call to the police, where the two youngest children were found dead from gunshot and stab wounds, while the older daughter sustained severe injuries.

The surviving daughter initially implicated an unknown intruder but later revealed that her mother was responsible and had coerced her into lying to the authorities. She recounted a chilling account of her mother giving them drugged milk and then attacking them, claiming that God instructed her to commit the act.

Evidence found at the scene included a blood-stained handgun, a knife, bullets, spent cartridges, and sleeping pills. The accused fled abroad after the daughter changed her statement, leading to her subsequent arrest in London.
