Anyone who has lived in Edinburgh for a certain amount of time knows that tourists struggle with the pronunciation of our beautiful city's name.
As it turns out, some of them are well aware - with one American TikTok star going viral after making a video poking fun at his own people. Theo Walker, who posts under the username @theodonovanwalker, made a new post which has already raked in over 11k likes in less than a day.
With the caption 'He tried', Theo mimics a person from the UK trying to explain to an American how to pronounce Edinburgh.

Spelling it out syllable by syllable, the 'American' seems to get it before giving the whole word a shot - and failing miserably. Check it out below.
Other TikTok users have left hundreds of comments, some in sympathy for visitors to Edinburgh. One said: "The first time I came to Edinburgh, I pronounced it Edenboorg."
Another added: "I love hearing different pronunciations of it! I've just came back from Slovakia and they call it Edinberg.
A third commented: "I used to pronounce it as Edin-berg so I understand this American guys struggle."
Others weren't quite so understanding. One user said: "I've heard a lot of different f**k ups. I've heard Edenberg more than once, which is a whole other f**k up."
