Russian prosecutors have sent the espionage case against an American journalist to court, accusing him of spying for the CIA. The journalist, who was arrested in March 2023 in the Urals city of Yekaterinburg, is facing charges of espionage, becoming the first American journalist to be arrested on such charges since the Cold War.

The Russian Prosecutor General’s office announced that they had approved the indictment, alleging that the journalist was acting on CIA instructions and had collected secret information about a Russian tank factory.
