Three American fencers who participated in the women's individual sabre events at the Paris Olympics failed to secure a medal on Monday amidst an ongoing match-fixing investigation.

The investigation was initiated following two complaints lodged in a pre-Olympics arbitration process known as Section 9. These complaints questioned the inclusion of fencers Tatiana Nazlymov and Mitchell Saron in the roster.

Recent reports revealed that both complaints were dismissed last month, confirming Nazylmov and Saron's rightful places on the team without any implication of misconduct on their part.

USA Fencing CEO Phil Andrews expressed respect for the fencers who underwent the Section 9 process, acknowledging the emotional toll it can take on all involved parties. Andrews emphasized the organization's commitment to maintaining a positive environment in Paris while awaiting the investigation's conclusion post-Olympics.

In the individual sabre competition, Nazylmov, Magda Skarbonkiewicz, and Elizabeth Tartakovsky were eliminated in the round of 32 matches. However, they are set to compete in the team event scheduled for Saturday.

Meanwhile, Saron was defeated in the round of 16 on Saturday, concluding his individual sabre campaign at the Olympics.
