American burger joint Monterey Jack's to bring 30 jobs to Lanarkshire

Award-winning American burger joint Monterey Jack's is set to open in East Kilbride this month, bringing 30 local jobs with it.

The popular restaurant chain, which has venues in Glasgow city centre and the Glasgow Fort, is coming to The Hub, EK, in early May.

Voted as having Scotland's best gourmet burgers from 2019-2021, New York-based franchise Monterey Jack's has burger bars and restaurants across the country.

A spokesman told Lanarkshire Live : "We are super excited to be opening in the ‘The Hub’, East Kilbride Shopping Centre.

"Monterey Jack’s are committed to always serving up award-winning burgers and award-winning cocktails from Scotland’s current Cocktail Bartender of the Year. We felt delivering all this to the community of East Kilbride is exactly what everyone deserves.

"With accommodation for around 250 diners and an awesome bar for some critically acclaimed cocktails we are so excited to bring some fun, food and fantastic drinks to East Kilbride and the shopping centre."

The chain is not just famous for its burgers and cocktails, they serve all sorts of drinks including fresh shakes, Italian coffee, mocktails, beers and sodas – as well as a great range of desserts and food including nachos, chicken, pizza, gourmet hot ‘dawgs’ and an acclaimed vegan menu.

Amongst the 30 positions created are management, hot shot servers, shaker slinging bartenders and fully trained big chef cherokees along with roles in between with applications still open.

A giveaway campaign is also set to launch on their social media soon with some top prizes up for grabs.

A spokesman for EK, East Kilbride, told us: “Monterey Jack's is one of the fastest growing restaurant chains in the country with its award winning gourmet burgers voted Scotland’s best.

"We are delighted the restaurant will soon be opening in The Hub and I am sure visitors will be impressed with the top quality American themed fayre on offer.”
