Ambulance takes two to hospital after expressway collision

Two people were taken to hospital as a precaution after a collision on an expressway.

Cheshire Police said officers were called to the crash on the Weston Link in Runcorn at 5.40pm on Saturday. The incident involved a grey BMW and a silver Ford Fiesta.

A picture published by a member of the public on social media showed a police car and fire engine at the scene on the westbound carriageway. Several comments below the post described the section of road as “dangerous” and a nearby slip road as "short".
