Two people were taken to hospital as a precaution after a collision on an expressway.
Cheshire Police said officers were called to the crash on the Weston Link in Runcorn at 5.40pm on Saturday. The incident involved a grey BMW and a silver Ford Fiesta.
A picture published by a member of the public on social media showed a police car and fire engine at the scene on the westbound carriageway. Several comments below the post described the section of road as “dangerous” and a nearby slip road as "short".

Police made no comment on any suspected cause of the crash as they appealed for information.
A constabulary spokeswoman said: “At around 5.40pm on Saturday, October 1, police were called to reports of a collision on the Weston Link expressway, Runcorn.
“Officers attended and found the collision was between a grey BMW and a silver Ford Fiesta.
“The driver and passenger of the BMW were taken to hospital in an ambulance for precautionary measures.
