One eagled-eyed Amazon shopper noticed that the online retail giant is selling a range of books for just £1 as part of the upcoming World Book Day.
World Book Day is an annual event that aims to promote reading for pleasure among young people, giving every child the opportunity to take home a book.
The books on Amazon are not available yet, but can be pre-ordered ahead of their release on February 17 — with World Book Day following shortly after on March 3.

Among the books being sold for £1 are My Very Very Very Very Very Very Very Silly Book of True or False: A funny book of facts for kids by Matt Lucas, The Worst Class in the World in Danger! by Joanna Nadin, Grimwood: Five Freakishly Funny Fables by Nadia Shireen, and Hey Duggee: The World Book Day Badge.
Sharing the news on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains Facebook UK group, the customer who spotted the deal wrote: "Lots of world book day £1 on amazon on preorder".
The post has since attracted over 400 likes and more than 1,500 comments from consumers discussing the promotion.
One said: "So fab just bought a load".
A second wrote: "Ordered some thanks".
"Thanks just ordered some," echoed a third.
Another commented: "Ordered some for my daughter!"
However, some Facebook users shared that the products being sold as part of the promotion were not fully sized.
One wrote: "These are mini editions of the books just incase you didn’t know".
A second agreed: "They’re tiny books aren’t they? Not like a full sized one?"
"This is pretty good but think these are the mini books not the normal size ones just thought I'd give a heads up," concurred a third.
Other members of the group were also quick to point out that children are able to pick up the books for free if they are given a voucher from their school.
One posted: "Schools should be handing out the vouchers to get them free. We got loads at playgroup yesterday".
"Every child gets a voucher for a free book from school and these are in the selection," shared a second.
