Amazon reduces Fire TVs to £170 in Alexa device sale, £500 cheaper than Sky Glass rival

Amazon has launched a surprise sale across its range of Alexa-backed devices today with money off its own branded tech from the popular Echo Dots to Kindles, and Ring Doorbells. This is where we've found £70 off its Fire TVs, the budget-friendly rival to Sky Glass.

The retail giant launched its own version of satellite-free TV's earlier this year, on the back of Sky and Samsung, which lets users watch TV series, films and normal TV channels without having a cable connection. Instead, Fire TVs have integrated software from the usual plug-in Fire Sticks.

The aim is for users to find all their favourite entertainment in one place, with the added luxury of Alexa-controlled voice commands, free and the ability to sync content to all Fire TV devices throughout the house. It's one of the cheapest prices since its launch in the UK.

The Fire TV 2 Series is now on offer for £179 compared to its original £249.99 price point and is the cheapest TV across Amazon's Fire range. The set comes in either a 32-inch or 40-inch screen size and goes up to £229 (reduced from £299.99) for customers looking for a bigger display.

The set also includes an HD display, an Alexa remote and Dolby Digital Audio. Next up in price, and now £140 off, is the Fire TV 50-inch 4 Series at £359.99. Having only been available to buy in the UK this year it was released in the US back in 2021.

Fitted with 4K entertainment, Dolby Digital Plus, 4K Ultra HD and HDR 10 its stood out to us amongst all the other Fire TV devices. Although more expensive compared to the TV 2 Series shoppers will get more for their money with £140 off compared to £70.

Also featured in the sale, and an alternative with TV lovers on a smaller budget are the Fire TV Sticks, which give users access to a range of series, streaming and apps but can be plugged into a standard TVs HDMI port.

The Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Max is reduced from £64.99 to £38.99 and supports Prime Video, Disney+, Netflix, NowTV, YouTube, Channel4 and BBC iPlayer.
