Amazon Prime Video's acclaimed superhero satire series, 'The Boys,' is set to wrap up with its fifth season, as confirmed by creator and showrunner Eric Kripke. The announcement was made during the promotion of the upcoming fourth season, which is scheduled to premiere on Prime Video this Thursday.

Kripke expressed his excitement about bringing the series to a satisfying conclusion, stating that it was always his plan to end the show after five seasons. The show, based on the comic by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, follows a group of vigilantes battling corrupt and celebrity-like superheroes under the management of the Vought conglomerate.

Since its debut, 'The Boys' has garnered significant popularity on Prime Video, leading to the development of two spinoffs set in the same universe. 'Gen V' focuses on young heroes honing their powers, while 'Diabolical' presents a series of animated short stories.
