Amazon Prime gaming December 2024: 18 free PC games for members, including Quake 2

Which ones will you choose? - (ES composite)

Amazon has announced the free PC games coming to Prime Gaming this month that anyone with an Amazon Prime membership can access.

There are 18 titles, including all-time classics such as Quake 2 and the 2023 indie hit Dredge.

Here’s the full list of games coming to Prime Gaming and the platforms on which you claim them.

Amazon has also added some notable titles to its Luna streaming service, including Death Stranding Direct’s Cut and The Expanse: A Telltale Series Deluxe Edition.

What are the top picks in the main line-up?

While not the biggest hit of the lot, Dredge is the most desirable of these titles. It was one of the indie hits of 2023 and sees you play a fishing boat captain who gets drawn into a dark, Lovecraftian mystery.

But, yes, you still do a lot of fishing. It takes around 12 hours to play and scores 80% on Metacritic.

Tomb Raider: Underworld is also available now. This was the last mainline title in the third-person action-adventure series before it was rebooted with 2013’s Tomb Raider.

It’s a more platform-heavy and skill-based game than the recent, cinematic entries. It’s also the latest in a whole string of Tomb Raider games given away in recent months through Prime Gaming.

For something completely different, the decidedly non-festive The Town of Light is out on December 26. This 2016 first-person game is a horror title that explores mental illness and can be completed in three to four hours.

Few may have encountered The Town of Light before, but it earned a Recommended badge from Eurogamer’s 4/5 review in 2016. This called it “an impactful exploration of mental health that presents a very different kind of horror.”

Some titles are only available until the end of the year, so don’t wait too long to claim them.
