Amazon Prime Day is over. Will there be another one and when is Black Friday?

.

That's it, Amazon Prime Days are done and dusted for now. If you missed out, you can find a handful of deals still live from Garmin, Peaty's, Giro, ABUS & Wahoo, just keep scrolling for those. Our Summer Deals hub is now the place to be, this houses all the deals that can be had on Bikes, clothing, parts and accessories from elsewhere on the internet.

In recent years Amazon has run Prime Days twice per year, alongside other major shopping events like Black Friday, Cyber Monday and new for this year Spring Deals offer. 2024's summer edition of Amazon Prime Days was on the 16th-17th of July, and we would expect a second event sometime in early October, with Black Friday following in November.

This leads us nicely to the subject of Black Friday. In 2023 Amazon ran its Black Friday sale from the 17th to the 27th of November. We wouldn't expect that to be radically different this year, as Amazon has tended to focus on the Thanksgiving weekend. Retailers outside of Amazon and many cycling retailers have started to stretch sales out for much of November.

How does Cycling Weekly select product?

We always try to feature products we have tested and rated highly. During big shopping events like Amazon Prime Days or Black Friday, we may feature deals on products we’re yet to test but, using our judgment, expertise and experience, still consider them great deals worth recommending to you. You can find out more about how we select and test products here.

Are there better deals elsewhere?

Over the last few years, we have also seen an increase in other bicycle retailers wanting a slice of the Amazon Prime Day pie, with reductions on sites stocking brands not found on Amazon. With Prime Days over, there are still some cracking deals to be had on and you can find these on our Summer Deals hub

When is the next Amazon Prime Day?

In recent times Amazon have chosen to run Prime Days twice per year. This is alongside their other major shopping events like Black Friday and Cyber Monday. This summer's edition of Amazon Prime Days was on the 16th-17th July 2024. Amazon will likely run a second event Prime Day in early October, with Black Friday and Cyber Monday sometime around the Thanksgiving weekend.

How do I become an Amazon Prime member?

To shop on Prime Days you must be an Amazon Prime member. This is a subscription that can be paid monthly or yearly. Subscriptions start from £8.99/$14.99 or you can access Prime Day using the free 30-day trial subscription.

Tips From Cycling Weekly to getting the best deals on Amazon Prime Day

1. Shop using Amazon Gift Card

Have a rummage in the draw and dig out those gift cards from Christmas or your birthday. Amazon gift cards can be used on Prime Day.

2. Why not try other retailers?

Prime Day is of course an Amazon exclusive incentive to shop with them. In recent years we have seen deals and offers pop up on through other cycling and sports retailers. We also keep an eye on these and you can these deals here.

4. Check the price

If you are looking for the best cycling deals it is worth shopping around. There is a really useful tool I always use called camelcamelcamel, they track millions of prices on Amazon. What is most useful is it tells you the lowest price the item has been and if it was put up before the event. So, you always know if you are getting a deal.

5. Read the reviews carefully

Amazon reviews can be an easy way to spot sellers bumping their ratings, although Amazon has clamped down on this it is not a fall-proof system. Here are our 5 ways to spot them:

• A very high percentage of five-star reviews,

• Lack of detail in reviews and vague praise,

• Generic review titles like “Nice product” or simply “Awesome”,

• Poor grammar and spelling mistakes

• Multiple reviews on specific dates (especially if there are long gaps between them)

Don't forget you can always check back to our site to see if we have a full review of the product, along with checking the brand's website. Finally, check the seller's other items listings and reviews for patterns.

6. There is nothing I want on the Prime Day deals

Not to worry, Amazon has run Prime Days twice in the previous couple of years, along with their Black Friday & Cyber Monday events, and 2024 even saw Amazon run a spring deals event.

If that isn't regular enough for you, Did you know Amazon runs deals EVERYDAY! You can find those Here
