Amazon is offering one of its most popular pieces of tech for nearly half price in a limited-time deal.
The retail giant has slashed the price of its fifth generation Echo Dot from £54.99 to just £29.99. Available in three colours - 'charcoal' black, 'deep sea' blue and 'glacier' white - the smart Bluetooth speaker comes equipped with virtual assistant Alexa, which can provide news updates, weather forecasts, hands-free timers and reminders.
As well as playing music, the device can also be paired with compatible thermostats, lightbulbs and more to allow you to control your home using voice commands. Claiming to be "the best-sounding yet" in the range having been released just last year, the Echo Dot has racked up thousands of reviews from Amazon shoppers with 82% of buyers awarding it a five-star rating.

One reviewer said: "The sound quality is excellent and Alexa responds well. There's so much more to it than just a music player. Along with the Alexa app it can do so much."
