Amazon customers can bag a £55 Echo Smart Speaker for £9 ahead of Prime Day

Amazon fans can buy a £55 Echo Dot for £8.99 in part of the online retailer's pre-Amazon Prime Day sale. And it's all thanks to an online code that's available to all Amazon customers - whether they have Prime or not.

Ahead of Amazon Prime day 2023, which is set to fall on July 11 and 12, the retailer has slashed the price of some of its most popular own-brand tech products and gadgets. Usually, the biggest price drops are saved for Prime members, but that's not the case for the latest Amazon tech product sale.

The Alexa-backed device normally costs £54.99 each, but shoppers can get on device for £8.99 in the latest 'duo' offer. In a new deal shoppers can buy two for £63.98, which slashes the second device to under the £10 mark.

To get the device for just £8.99 shoppers have to apply a discount code at checkout, 'ECHODOT' which can be found for all shoppers on its site. There's also the option to save a further 25% off the model with its 'trade-in' feature.

This is great for those who are looking to add more than one device throughout their home, as the products continue to be popular pieces of home tech. Designed to integrate with various other smart devices like TV's, radios, phones and even standard light switches.

The Alexa-controlled smart speaker can do its usual functions like telling the time, streaming music, setting timers and even controlling smart devices throughout your home, all aspects which have become well-known to the round Amazon devices. The 5th Generation product is set apart with its new temperature control feature which allows Alexa to tell users the temperature of their room and home.

Also new is the 'tap recognition', users can pause and play music by patting the device, along with the usual 'Alexa stop' command. The newest model also comes with improved audio, aimed for deeper bass, vibrant sounds and clearer vocals.

It's not the only tech device to be reduced ahead of the upcoming Prime Day, as select models of its Fire TVs are also cut in price. The 43-inch smart TV has been reduced by £60, down to £369.

Global branded tech, like Samsung devices, also feature in the early sale as its S23 smartphone is currently £150 off as Amazon continues to be a popular retailer to buy the brand.
