Amazon confirms last order dates for delivery before Christmas Day

The deadline for Amazon products is just around the corner and shoppers must order by specific date to get confirmed delivery.

The online retail giant is a favoured go-to when it comes to finding gifts for family and friends, as shopping can be done for almost any imaginable category. Be it toys, kitchenware, outdoor furniture or high-end perfume, it's a quick and reliable way to get shopping done - especially with Prime Next Day Delivery.

In what is normally the busiest time of the year for the postal service, it's expected to be even more chaotic than usual as services including Royal Mail have confirmed a national strike in dates leading up to the Christmas period. This means shoppers will have to get orders dispatched a lot earlier than normal.

The online retailer's landing page states last minute orders are available from Monday, December 5 until Thursday, December 22, but even though money off a range of products can be guaranteed up until then, delivery at your doorstep cannot. Whether you're opting for free delivery or paying an added fee for a specific day, the confirmed guaranteed date to order by is six days before on Thursday, December 19.

Its current ' last minute Christmas deals' feature a range of products on offer, with options for gifting, food and drink selections, or items to make the house feel more festive in the lead up to the day itself. Like any other sale event - and similar to Black Friday or Amazon Prime Day - its current deals are a chance for shoppers to snap up purchases at one of the cheapest yearly prices.

The deals include 51% off the fifth generation Echo Dot, 72% off wireless earphones, up to 44% off beauty products, as well as money-off alcohol (from whiskey, to wine and prosecco).

Amazon does speak highly of its Christmas Eve delivery slots, ideal for forgetful or last-minute shoppers, but in the next line, it states busy periods can mean delayed deliveries so although it is possible, delivery is not 100% guaranteed.

As a retailer with hundreds of third party sellers, the delivery dates for items vary depending on the seller. The majority of guaranteed delivery products are on Prime, but shoppers can check the up-to-date delivery status on each item at checkout.
