An urgent recall has been issued for popular childrens' toys sold on eBay and Amazon due to choking and chemical fears.
Irish parents have been advised to get rid of several toys sold on Amazon, eBay and other online platforms. The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPCS) has issued a warning on a perfume factory kit sold on eBay, a children's flashlight sold on AliExpress, finger paints sold on Amazon, and a baby tissue elephant box sold on Amazon.
The issues with these products range from harmful chemicals that may cause skin allergies and allergic reactions, to choking dangers from small batteries and metal zips. Here's everything you need to know about which products have been recalled, and how to get your money back for a refund.

Science4You Perfume Factory Mini Kit
One of the toys is a perfume factory set sold on eBay, and it may pose a chemical risk to children by causing allergic reactions.
The Competitions and Consumer Protection Commission posted the recall online on Monday. The recall notice reads: "A safety issue has been identified with a Science4You Perfume Factory Mini Kit sold on the eBay platform.
"The risk reported to the CCPC is a chemical risk. A child may be exposed to sensitizing chemicals in the product and may develop an allergic reaction."
The brand is Science4You, and the model number is Mini kit. The barcode is 5600310393974, and the batch number is unknown.
It is currently unknown how many of these products were bought in the Republic of Ireland. Parents are being urged to contact eBay seller to see if there are any remedies available to you via your user account on the eBay platform.
Early Childhood Education Flashlight
The CCPC has issued a recall for the Early Childhood Education Flashlight sold on the AliExpress platform. In its recall notice, the CCPC notes that the hazards associated with this toy is choking and chemical risk.
"The battery compartment can be easily opened, leaving the button batteries accessible. A child may put them in the mouth and choke on them or they can be swallowed, which could cause damage to the child’s gastrointestinal tract."
The model number is LP12145622LAN. The brand, the bar code and the batch number are unknown
Parents who may have purchased this flashlight are urged to stop using it immediately and to keep it out of reach of children. If you bought one of these products, you can contact the seller via your AliExpress user account.
Magic Do – Tiger Zhou Finger Paints
A recall has been announced for Magic Do – Tiger Zhou Finger Paints sold recently on Amazon. According to the recall notice from the CCPC, the risk posed by the paints is chemical.
The CCPC said: "The product exceeds the amount of formaldehyde permitted under the standard. Formaldehyde is a skin sensitiser that may trigger allergic reactions."
The brand is Magic Do – Tiger Zhou. The ASIN numbers are B072MQ3HBX, B06Y61WN7Q and B093KYQLD.
The model number is X001H8MCF3, while the batch number and barcode are unknown. There were 16 of these products sold in the Republic of Ireland.

Baby Tissue Box Toy Elephant
There has been an urgent recall for a toy elephant tissue box over choking fears in babies and young children.
The product was sold on Amazon. According to the CCPC's recall notice it poses a "risk of choking" as the metal zip on the underside of the product can detach and become a small part, the small part may be placed in the mouth and swallowed, causing a young child to choke.
The Amazon ASIN number is B0BK9M57N6. The type/number of model, batch number, brand and the barcode are unknown.
Six of these elephant tissue boxes were sold in the Republic of Ireland. Parents and guardians are advised to stop using the product immediately and to keep it out of reach of children.
