Amazing places in South Africa as holidays become cheaper than ever for Brits

Brits can visit stunning wildlife reserves, vineyards and sweeping beaches in South Africa for a fraction of the price as this time last year.

Over the past six months the value of the rand against the pound has dropped significantly, with the British currency currently the strongest it's ever been in the country.

As worrying as this is for people living in South Africa, one very small silver lining is that the drop has given its tourism sector a major boost.

The only significant drawback is that it isn't cheap getting to the base of the African continent, as 11 hour direct flights from the UK regularly cost upwards of £600.

Once there however accommodation, travel, food and drink costs a lot less than a year ago.

Thornybush Game Reserve Safari

This safari begins in the historical city of Johannesburg, where guests stay in luxury accommodation for the night before being transferred to Hoedspruit.

The next two nights will be spent at the Thornybush Game Reserve, situated within the 14,000 hectares of pristine wilderness in the Kruger National Park.

The park is famous the world over for its abundance of wildlife and the incredible interactions and clashes between some magnificent beasts

South African Bush & Beach Journey

The trip begins in the scenic city of Cape Town, where guests can view the iconic slopes of Table Mountain as well as visiting the bustling city's harbours.

From here you'll be taken along the Stellenbosch Wineland route to sample wines from the region.

As well as exploring the local beaches, there will be the opportunity to go on a Big Five safari at the Kapama Southern Camp in Kruger National Park.

Cape Town, the Winelands & Kruger Luxury Journey
