ONE of Glasgow’s iconic subway carriages has been pictured on the city's street as it is transported to its new home.
Glasgow’s old fleet of subway trains made its final journey in June 2024 after transporting passengers across the city for 44 years.
The 1980 Metro-Cammell trains became an iconic part of Glasgow with its distinctive orange exterior and retro interior, but were replaced by a new fleet of trains last year.
However, Glasgow Subway said it had to take action following customer feedback about “shoogling” on the new trains last year.
One of the old subway carriages has now been spotted being transported along a Glasgow street as it is taken to its new home in Finnieston.

The carriage was bought by businessman Joe Mulholland, a former journalist and lawyer, who owns the site, as well as the nearby Hidden Lane.

It was previously reported that one of the trains will also be preserved in the Riverside Transport Museum in the city.
