Newcastle United co-owner Amanda Staveley will be an interested spectator at Coach Lane Campus today to take in the club's Women's League fixture against Leeds United.
The Ripon financier has big plans for Newcastle's Women's team and has already had several positive meetings to improve the set-up behind the scenes at the club. The game kicks off at 2pm and admission is £3 for adults and £1 for concessions.
The club currently ply their trade in the FA Women’s National League Division One North, the fourth division in the English football pyramid but there is long-term ambition to push up the divisions. The Toon director met with the Women's side back in January and already there are big steps being made towards boosting resources for the 1989-founded side.
The Magpies are expected to host a fixture on the big stage at St James' Park after Staveley got on board with the club following the Middle East takeover. A narrow FA Cup defeat at the hands of Ipswich took place in front of 2,700 recently.
