Amanda Serrano doesn't want to get on the wrong side of Irish fans - despite plotting against their undisputed lightweight queen Katie Taylor.
The 33-year-old is on a mission to dethrone Taylor when the two finally do battle in their Madison Square Garden super-fight on April 30.
The two best pound-for-pound fighters in women's boxing right now, Serrano has great respect for the Bray boxer but knows the task at hand as she sent a message to Taylor fans.
"I don't want to disrespect the Irish fans," Serrano joked at today's London press conference.
"But Katie Taylor is a great champion and she's been a great champion for a while.
"But one of my goals is to become undisputed (lightweight) champion - that is my goal come April 30 - to become undisputed champion."
And the time is now for the seven-weight world champion as she explained why it's better that the two are fighting now rather than their planned bout almost two years ago.
"It was good then but I think now is even better," she joked
"I grew as a fighter, I grew my value and I think now is the best to fight headlining, I don't think it was going to be like this before - it was the co-main event.
"Now we're headlining the card with Liam Smith and Jessie Vargas in the co-main event - that's a hell of a fight alone."
