Amanda Serrano believes women and boxing fans will be real winners from Katie Taylor fight

Amanda Serrano believes boxing fans and women in general will be the real winners from her fight with Katie Taylor this weekend.

The bout is expected to do far more numbers in terms of pay-per-view purchases and ticket sales than promoter Eddie Hearn and Madison Square Garden could ever have imagined.

But Serrano believes it will be the effect the fight will have on the sport going forward that will be its real lasting legacy.

She said on Thursday: "No matter what happens on Saturday night I think the real winners are the fans, women in general and the sport of women's boxing because it's only going to grow from now on."

Serrano, who has won nine world titles in seven different weight classes, added: "I shine under pressure. I'm just excited to go out there. I train hard like I always have.

"I never underestimate any of my opponents. I know Katie Taylor is a true champion. She's undefeated and undisputed for a reason, but one of my goals is to become undisputed champion and she has that.

"I'm going up once again two weight divisions to face one of the best fighters in the world.

"I can't wait until Saturday night to show that we're deserving of this opportunity in the spotlight."
