Amanda Owen and her family are taking on an extraordinarily daring project as they renovate the charming Anty Johns cottage on their Ravenseat Farm. The ambitious undertaking, which has captivated fans through the family’s docu-series Our Farm Next Door that aired last year, showcases the remarkable teamwork of the entire family. With her nine children and ex-husband Clive Owen by her side, Amanda recently shared a snapshot of the group posing outside the property. Standing confidently in the center with her arms folded across her chest, she highlighted the enormity of the task ahead.
In her heartfelt caption, Amanda wrote: “There are not enough hours in the day to get everything done! Sometimes it feels like one step forward and two back but we keep going whatever the weather. The good news is that you don’t even have to break into a sweat or [have a] stressy meltdown to experience the ups and downs that come with taking on our insanely ambitious renovation project”, reported Hello! Magazine.
Her words capture the daily challenges faced as she juggles multiple roles—continuing to farm, film, write, and oversee her supersized family of children and animals. The renovation of this 300-year-old cottage is as much about restoring a historic building as it is about creating a home where memories can flourish. Alongside the physical labor, Amanda admitted that sleepless nights were part of the journey, especially when facing structural concerns.
Reflecting on the building’s precarious state, she confided: “The description I got was, ‘The house is stood on nothing. It’s never been in as much of a precarious position ever in its whole existence.’ That’s why I couldn’t sleep!”
Additional photos posted by Amanda revealed further progress on the renovations. One image showed a flurry of sheep being herded past the property, adding a delightful touch of farm life to the project. In another humorous shot, one of her children was captured standing in one of the home’s impressive chimney stacks, eliciting warm responses from fans. One admirer commented, “All the children are lovely but I have a soft spot for Clemmie!” while another urged, “Just keep taking these great photos…please.”
Last week, Amanda excitedly teased her latest series with another social media post, writing “How it started. Here’s how you can follow our journey, the highs, lows, and the even lowers. TONIGHT ON CHANNEL 4. 7:10 pm.”
Her photo carousel began with images of the derelict farmhouse, followed by stunning visuals of the renovated structure with animals casually strolling by.
Fans have since speculated whether the family will move into the newly renovated cottage or continue living in their former home. Regardless of the outcome, Amanda’s determination and transparent sharing of the renovation’s ups and downs continue to inspire and captivate her audience.
